I thank you for your interest in St. Joseph Catholic School. Located in Winter Haven, SJCS has a rich reputation for academic excellence that stems almost sixty years. This legacy of academic excellence continues with our strong curriculum and dynamic teaching faculty. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing the highest quality Catholic education to all students.
St. Joseph Catholic School belongs to the Diocese of Orlando and is fully accredited through the Florida Catholic Conference. The teachers and administrators are all degreed and hold certification through the state of Florida. In addition, St. Joseph Catholic School offers Title I services, a resource program, an enrichment program, a school guidance program, Spanish, art, music, physical education, a competitive sports program, and a vast elective program for middle school students.
Faculty at St. Joseph Catholic School recognize our role in educating students for the 21st Century. We are committed to implementing the Common Core State Standards, while we focus on performance based assessments. Additionally, our faculty is committed to embedding technology and writing into all areas of the curriculum.
Since 2004, twenty-three St. Joseph alumni have been valedictorians or salutatorians at area Polk County high schools. Success like there is not the exception, but an example of the formation of St. Joseph students. Students enjoy a rich foundation of Catholic faith through academic instruction as well as opportunities to put their faith into action. Our rigorous curriculum in all subject areas gives students a strong foundation to learn and develop intellectually.
The facilities of St. Joseph offer a secure campus which includes a gym, media center, science lab, art studio, and computer lab. Our music program offers opportunities for students to perform and grow through our choir, band, and drama clubs. Students interested in art have many opportunities to improve their talents through weekly art classes, electives for middle school students, and an art club for students in fourth grade and higher.
